For the inauguration ofKilowatt Summerat the Serre dei Giardini Margherita in Bologna, we created“THE LION IS BACK,”apaint mapping installationthat blends street art and digital animation.

The project celebrates the lion, a historic symbol of the city, evoking the memory of the lions housed in the Giardini zoo during World War II. We combined the physicality of a mural, created over two days, with the dynamics of alow-poly 3D animation. The result is an immersive narrative that traces the feline’s journey from Ethiopia to captivity in Emilia, and finally to a utopian liberation, transforming the urban surface into a cutting-edge historical monument.
