Aelion completed an innovative digital restoration for the Church of San Francesco in Guardiagrele. Starting from historical photographs, we reconstructed a lost fresco through digital illustrations projected via 3D video mapping on the portal. The project, along with the Illo Tempore show, celebrated the fusion of historical memory and digital arts during the Artigitale festival.
We also created an architectural video mapping project on Porta San Giovanni in Guardiagrele. The work transformed the monument into a 3D sequence of artisanal materials (iron, wood, ceramic), accompanied by sound design by Francesco Angelini. The highlight was the integration of a live blacksmithing performance, where two local blacksmiths worked iron under the projected arch, creating a perfect bridge between digital art and manufacturing tradition.
