The Living Canvas – AI Mirror
This interactive installation redefines the boundaries of the museum experience, transforming the observer into the protagonist of the artwork. AI Mirror acts as a digital mirror capable of breaking down the distance between the audience and the subject: by standing in front of the screen, the visitor sees their own image transfigure in real time into a pictorial masterpiece Thanks to the integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence, the installation offers a fluid and dynamic re-elaboration, surpassing the concept of a static filter to arrive at a true algorithmic visual narrative
The system allows you to explore centuries of aesthetic evolution, adapting physiognomy and movements according to the canons of the greatest artistic movements. The journey ranges from the solemn geometries of Egyptian Art and the majesty of Roman statuary, to the harmony of the Renaissance. The metamorphosis continues through the deconstructions of Cubism, the vigor of Futurism, and the delicacy of watercolor, culminating in the dreamlike visions of Arcimboldo and the vibrant chromatism of Pop Art.
The core of the project is developed in TouchDesigner, which manages interaction and video processing with zero latency. The installation is optimized for a setup with Epson projectors used in portrait mode, a technical choice that respects and enhances the traditional format of the canvas portrait.
